In 1982 I began coaching youth sports for the City of Torrance while in college. I have coached AYSO soccer, AYSO referee, Torrance P&R flag football coach, Torrance P&R basketball coach, Little League baseball coach and I continue to coach Little League baseball. I am the Co-Founder of the Leadership Torrance Alumni Association Student Leadership Program through the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce. This is a program developed to educate Torrance High School students of the opportunities they have living in the Torrance area and to teach them about being leaders in our community. This program has been very successful at North Torrance High School and we hope to take it to all the Torrance High Schools in the coming years. |

I have had the pleasure of serving Torrance as a Community Services Commissioner, Parks and Recreation Commissioner, Planning Commissioner and in October 2005, I had the incredible experience of being appointed to the Torrance City Council to finish out Ted Lieu's (elected to the State Assembly) remaining 9 months. As a Torrance Councilman, I served on the Armed Forces Ad Hoc Committee, Employee Relations Committee, and the Transportation Committee. |

To have the opportunity to serve the community I grew up in as a Councilman was very exciting. However, 9 months was not enough time for me to truly address all the issues I believe Torrance residents would like to see from their council members. |

I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible and to answering any concerns you may have about Torrance's future. |
